Proving Them Wrong!
32 year-old John Wood is a surgeon at famous Boston hospital. "During the first two years of high school, I found biology very difficult. My report cards always said things like 'must try harder' or 'John ought to choose non-scince classes.' This was a disaster for someone who had always dreamed of becoming a doctor. I was so discouraged that I dropped out of high school at 16 and started working at a local supermaket.
"One evening I saw a documentary about Albert Einstein. According to the documentary, Einstein had done really badly at school. I began to thing that if Einstein could succeed, then I may have a chance, too. I didn't want to leave my job, so I decided to go to night school to finish high school. Within two years I applied to college and was accepted into a pre-med program!
"I've often thought I should contact the reporter from the Einstein documentary and think him. As for the biology teacher, I might contact her, too, one day-but not to thank her!
