4. Conclusion
A mixture of cell wall degrading enzymes from A. aculeatus was applied for viscosity reduction of various cassava feedstocks. Enzymatic pretreatment was implemented for VHG fermentation of cassava substrates. High ethanol contents were achieved by both the conventional thermal process and an alternative non-thermal process, which were comparable to those obtained with grain-based fermentation. The simple and efficient process developed in this study provides a potent strategy for improvement of current ethanol production process efficiency and economics from cassava.
