Neuman's system model
The model focuses on the well-being and the holistic care of the patient (Dewan & Lowry 2006). It is largely centred on the theories of stress and the response towards stress, within the patients environment, also known as an open system. The system comprses five interrelating factors: biological, mental, interactive environmental, social- cultural, developmental and spiritual effects.
