The results indicated that the mean score of the pre-tests of monolingual group (M =19.23,
SD =3.87) and bilingual group (M =20.53, SD =3.96), t (29) =-1.18.) are not noticeably different
and they are close to each other. The mean difference scores was -1.3 with a 95% confidence
interval ranging from -3.54 to 0.94. So, here one can say that the groups are homogeneous in
terms of reading comprehension; that is, the results of the mean of the differences of the means
of the pre-tests of two groups did not reveal any significant differences (Table.3).
