The forest area has many important functions aside from ensuring biodiversity. It provides habitat and food to fauna, absorption and preservation of CO2 gas, and provides stability of the land, among others. In the REO8 jurisdiction, it is identified that the forest is the key environment and ecosystem as identified in the Eleventh National Economic and Social Development Plan of Thailand, hence, it is necessary to preserve the forest ecosystem and wildlife ecosystem.
