A. Motion Capture
Motion capture is a general term describing the reconstruction of real-life movement in 3D space. Human motion is the primary target for motion capture because of its anatomical complexity and organic characteristics. Most recording studios employ either optical or inertial technologies to capture human motion for the purpose of character animation.
Optical technologies rely on digital cameras to triangulate positional data while inertial technologies use IMUs to track world space
rotations. Inertial motion capture can be described as being a multi-faceted sequence of procedures entailing: data acquisition,
sensor fusion, post-processing, kinematic deployment and 3D visualisation.
