a) Payroll
The Payroll activity is responsible for ensuring all local employees are paid on time and accounting for all deductions, local and national taxes, pensions, social security and other payroll related on costs.
It is also responsible for timely returns of payroll information to the relevant authorities and ensuring the cashiers department is aware of payment schedules for the various tax and social security burdens.
It has to ensure that all inputs and data are processed and passed to the bank by the 15th and 30th of the month following the period end so that salaries are available in employees’ bank account by the 15th and 30th.
Once the payroll has been run it is to be checked and approved by the CEO.
• The Admin and Office Manager then passes the details, by cost center to the Accounting & Financial Manager for journaling into the nominal ledger.
