The purpose of this study was to estimate variance components and genetic parameters for prediction of breeding values and genetic trends of weaning weight and calving interval in DLD swamp buffaloes. The variance components and genetic parameters were estimated using single trait mixed animal model analysis from 5,450 DLD swamp buffaloes from 10 herds (1997 – 2012) by Restricted Maximum Likelihood (REML) procedure. Breeding values were analyzed by Best Linear Unbiased Prediction (BLUP) method using BLUPF90-BeefPAC 2.4 program. Growth trait was weaning weight (8 months; WW) and fertility trait was calving interval (CI). The estimates of direct heritability ( h2 ), maternal heritability (m2) and maternal permanent environment effect (c2) of WW were 0.41, 0.18 and 0.12, respectively. The heritability ( h2 ) of CI was 0.08. Genetic trends of male and female WW traits were increased by 0.21 and 0.23 kg/year and CI traits was decreased by 0.57 day/year.apd buffalo Muranopearance an
