Generally, the photosynthetic pigments, Chl and carotenoids,
were affected significantly by the different light intensities in both
DP and MP types (Fig. 3). The photosynthetic pigments content was
higher in DP type than that of MP type under shading treatments,
but the ratio of Chl a/b of DP type was lower than that of MP
one. The reduced irradiances significantly increased Chl a, Chl
b and total carotenoids contents, and decreased the values of Chl
a/b (Fig. 3geh). In DP type, the highest Chl a, Chl b, Chl a þ b and
carotenoids contents were observed in 5% treated plants at 35 DOT.
In MP-jasmine, however, the highest Chl a, Chl b, Chl a þ b and
carotenoids contents were observed in 20% treated plants at 21
DOT. The shade treatments resulted in a decrease of Chl a/b with
increasing time points, and the highest Chl a/b values of DP and MPjasmine
were both observed in unshaded plants at 35 DOT
(Fig. 3geh).
