Lunch at the Gay Hussar with the impressive Alastair Campbell, who is Tony Blair's press officer. I share stories about my hectic life in No.10 during the Wilson era. I can tell that Alastair is taking it all in because he closes his eyes tight, and doesn't move an inch.I end the impressive meal by offering him some sage advice born of hard-won experience.
"It's inevitable that many of the headline stories will centre on the Prime Minister" I say,"So it's the job of the Press Officer to try and make sure they show the PM in a good light"
On the way back,I put my foot in a puddle. This made me think it must have been raining.
