A. Arrival in Sendai
(1) For participants who will take an international flight arriving at Haneda Airport, please take trains
to Sendai. It usually takes about three hours from Haneda to JR Sendai station. Please see “Transportation
from Haneda to Sendai” on pages 2-4..
Transportation from HANEDA Airport to SENDAI Station
Haneda Airport
Haneda Airport is located less than 30 minutes south
of central Tokyo and is connected by railway and bus
links. Two railway companies, Tokyo Monorail and
Keikyu Railways, provide transportation to and from
the airport.
Sendai is located about 370 km north of Haneda
Airport, and it takes approximately three hours by
express train including the time for transfers.

Trains to Sendai
The train from Haneda airport to Hamamatsucho is operated by the Tokyo Monorail Company, and from
Hamamatsucho to Sendai by the JR East Railway Company. Please take the Tohoku Shinkansen from
Tokyo Station to Sendai.
Stations at Haneda Airport
There is only one terminal for international flight passengers at Haneda Airport, and it has its own train

‘Tokyo Monorail’ from Airport Station
The Tokyo Monorail operates from Haneda Airport to Hamamatsucho station. This train is designed to
accommodate travelers carrying suitcases with luggage areas. From the airport to Hamamatsucho, it takes
about 15 to 20 minutes. At Hamamatsucho station, please take the Keihin Tohoku Line to Tokyo Station.
Train Tickets from Haneda Airport to Sendai
Since you will need to transfer twice to take the Tohoku Shinkansen at Tokyo station, it will be easier if you
purchase tickets for the entire trip from Haneda Airport to Sendai at Haneda Airport International
Terminal Station. You need to buy tickets for three trains: “Tokyo Monorail,” “JR Keihin Tohoku Line” and
“Tohoku Shinkansen”
