Dear Team,
I hope you had the opportunity to take time during the recent holiday season to rest and enjoy being with your family and friends - and have returned to work replenished, revitalized, and ready to continue delivering your customary excellence in the New Year.
In collaborating as a team, we have made great progress in aligning our goals and priorities with AIG’s vision of becoming our clients’ most valued insurer. As a reminder, the goals we set ourselves last year were intended to empower our operational leaders and employees to manage expenses tightly against our budget, refine our services and support model, and build a high-performance organization. I’m proud and gratified to share that we have made considerable progress against all of these objectives and that I have had the privilege to share these accomplishments with Seraina Maag, recently appointed as our Executive Leader.
Here are some highlights:
• Throughout 2015, I had the honor to meet many of you during my Listening Tours and Town Halls. Through these events and with updates from our Customer Operations leaders, we have established open and transparent communications and are continuing to build tremendous engagement and collaboration across our teams. This year, I will continue to communicate in the transparent and open style that we have collaboratively established in Customer Operations.
• Thanks to your diligence, we have managed our costs extremely well, and we are in line to deliver to our target, including having to accommodate unexpected expenses.
• Our core service delivery teams continue to refine and enhance their service delivery models. The Client Policy Servicing and Contact Centres have made enormous efforts to standardize, optimize and implement new processes and technologies to improve our customer experience. We have an enabling platform to grow, adapt, and differentiate our service offering and meet the needs of our policyholders, brokers, agents and business partners. These teams “provide the services and solutions that enable and support the delivery of our AIG promises”.
• Our strategic support of both Commercial and Consumer and to the Regions has been critical in shaping the future intent and designs of the company, bringing to life our commitment to “be a trusted partner that enables value creation”.
• We continue to support the broader enterprise in achieving needed improvements and results with expertise provided by our teams in Transformation Services, Operations Services, Sourcing and Procurement, and Risk Control Services. Our goal is simple: Make every day better and be ready for tomorrow.
I hope you are as pleased as I am with these results as they are due to your efforts during a time of great transition. I am extremely proud of the ways in which we have adapted and responded to the rapid pace of change, becoming more efficient and effective, and advancing our goals of becoming a high-performance organization. You are our greatest strength, and together, we have cared for our customers every day.
Looking ahead to 2016, I know that we will continue to execute on our objectives and build our desired culture. While we know there will be a transition period for the organization - as we become leaner, deliver customer-centric service and provide tools to support you to do your job better - we are also stronger and well placed to deliver another successful year because of you. You play a vital role in our continued transformation and our desire to be “innovators and integrators who help AIG transform the marketplace”.
