An adaptive optics scanning laser ophthalmoscope (AO-SLO) enables the observation of photoreceptor cells in the retina as well as the flow of blood in blood vessels at the back of the eye. Because the fundus of the eye is the only organ with a vasculature clearly viewable by direct observation, it enables the early detection of not only eye disorders but also other diseases. Through joint development efforts in this field with universities and medical research institutions in Japan and abroad, we aim to contribute to further advances in healthcare.
