The partnership attribute was evident across disciplines,
contexts, and time. For example, Wagner et al.
(2002) described a health coaching intervention with
medical students as a collaborative endeavor. More
recently, Hennessey and Suter (2011) noted the
importance of partnership to facilitate active patient
engagement in care during a nurse health coaching
study of transitional models in home care. This
attribute was also conveyed in literature that documented
different applications of health coaching, such
as with clients suffering from various chronic diseases,
as well as with those seeking disease prevention or
enhanced wellness.
