Fig. 1 shows the geometry of the antenna along with CSRR used in the ground plane. The rectangular patch is designed using the empirical relations given in [10]. The CSRR used in the structure behaves like an electric dipole which can be excited by an axial electric field. The electrical equivalent of CSRR is a LC tank circuit [11]. The geometrical parameters of CSRR are: slot width= 0.5 mm, gap between the ring opening = 0.5 mm, radius of outer concentric ring = 3.5 mm, radius of inner concentric ring = 2 mm. Patch dimensions are: length of patch LP = 32.50 mm, width WP = 33.75 mm; Substrate dimension (LS x WS) = 78 mm x 97 mm. L1 & L2 is
10 mm. Corporate feed network [12] dimensions are: feed
width W1 =3.6 mm, W=1.8 mm, the height of feed from substrate boundary (L3) = 12 mm. The patch is distanced (W3) horizontally 10 mm from the substrate. On the ground plane, both CSRR are kept at equal height i.e. GL=41.85 mm
