Political behaviour and image management
Political behaviour is an important
component of employability. Greenhaus and
Callanan (1994) point out that employers are
more likely to retain employees that they
find adequate simply because the employee
gives the impression of being co-operative.
Image management and image building
represent another related dimension that the
research evidence suggests enhances
individual employability. Berger and
Luckman (1996) argue that image
management is important simply because
what employees do on a daily basis may be
hard to observe, there the creation of an
image is a proxy for difficult to measure
accomplishments.
