This Woold Gilles (and this is the spelling I’m adopting because in my opinion it sounds the closest to the katakana spelling of his name) seems to be another vampire deviating from the general type (vampires aren’t supposed to be interested in anything other than blood): Crowley and his boredom and desire for thrills, Ferid and his wild eccentricity and even wilder scheming, and now this Woold Gilles and his love for ballet and possibly art in general. And yeah, he’s pretty hot, but Crowley still wins visually, for meXD
BTW, I guess Lest Carr is forever a kid, even if he’s millennia-old, he’s still a perfectionist kid who is hang up about his childish rivalry with Krul and who can’t even tell the difference between ballet and opera, apparently. They’re clearly dancing there, not signing, yet he’s wondering what fun Gilles can possibly find in watching livestock sing and if the blood of good singers tastes better than that of everyone else.
Anyway, stop scaring the ballet dancers, Woold Gilles! The Bolshoi’s dancers are great and all, but how can they produce anything watch-worthy if they’re practically scared stiff there…
The peaceful scenery outside is pretty striking in contract to what we’re used to seeing in Japan: it’s like Moscow and Japan are parts of two entirely different universes - one is enjoying peace and kids look pretty happy, even with vamps strolling around, and the other is in ruins and at brutal endless war.
Just like with Crowley being a devoted Christian and a crusader in God’s name in the past, I also find it cruelly ironic that the vampire HQ is apparently located in St Basil’s Cathedral, a cathedral that’s supposed to be honoring Virgin Mary.
Moving on. We’re finally getting another high ranking female vampire (Gerber or Gabel (both seem to be male names tho’?) Partait or something similar), but she’s a bit disappointing: too arrogant and somewhat stupid is my first impression of her, nothing like the smart dominatrix air Krul has, and Lest Carr even tells her off for stupidity and advices her to think before running her mouth (I guess not everybody on the Progenitor Council is smart, huh).
