3.2. DC Power Supplies
Use of a DC motor provides design benefits in terms of space, placement and cost. A motor can be placed in different angles and it is very much lower cost wise. Maintenance costs of using a motor are far less than for an actuator if parts were to diminish in performance. To recreate uniaxial linear motion, a DC motor will be attached to a wheel to create movement along the table base. The DC motor optimizes the design because it makes it portable and can be operated by a voltage source such as a car battery.
