In line with CP known degradation, atmospheric concentration
of CPO increased (from 14 to 27 ng m3
) in the day following
application while CP levels dropped (from 7 to 0.8 mg m3
). On the
following night trends overturned: CP concentration increased and
CPO levels dropped. Later on, both CP and CPO levels dropped.
Considering the low volatility of CPO, its elevated atmospheric
concentrations in the day after application are likely to result from
photo-oxidation of CP during transport and/or sampling rather
than evaporation of CPO that had been formed on treated soil/foliage.
According to wind direction and speed (northewesterly,
~2 m s1
) during the day after application, transport time of ~2 min
