mode of practice in the re-invention of Good Governance. It presents eGovernance as inclusive of
Electronic Democracy (eDemocracy), Electronic Government (eGovernment) and Electronic Business
(eBusiness), examines the nature and scope of developments in this emerging field and provides a
wealth of examples to illustrate essential, embedded concepts and modes of practice. The article
introduces the Commonwealth Centre for Electronic Governance (CCfEG) as a special focus centre,
to date the only one of its kind in the Commonwealth and beyond, poised to be the organization of
choice in moving Commonwealth member countries forward in the use of the new information and
communication technologies as a tool for re-inventing Good Governance.
