models.Theselectionofadatamodelforconceptualdesign,amongotherthings,depends
on theproblemdomain,theknowledge,andthepersonalpreferencesofanISdesigner.In
some situations,asimultaneoususageofdifferentapproachestotheconceptualdatabase
designandISdevelopmentmayleadtothemostappropriatesolutions.Inourprevious
research wehavedevelopedatoolthatprovidesanevolutiveandincrementalapproach
to ISdevelopment,whichisbasedontheformtypedatamodel.Theapproachesbasedon
the ExtendedEntity-Relationship(EER)andclassdatamodelsarebroadlyaccepted
throughout thecommunityofISdesigners.Inordertosupportthesimultaneoususageof
approaches basedontheformtype,EERandclassdatamodels,wehavedevelopedthe
Multi-ParadigmInformationSystemModelingTool(MIST).Inthispaper,wepresentapart
of ourMISTtoolthatsupportsEERapproachtoadatabasedesign.MISTcomponents
currently provideaformalspecificationofanEERdatabaseschemaspecification andits
transformationintotherelationaldatamodel,ortheclassmodel.Also,MISTallows
generationofStructuredQueryLanguagecodeforadatabasecreationandprocedural
code forimplementingdatabaseconstraints.Inaddition,Javacodethatstoresandpro-
cessesdatafromthedatabase,maybegeneratedfromtheclassmodel.Inthispaper,we
present theevaluationstudyoftheMISTEERdomain-specific language.Users'percep-
tionsoflanguagequalitycharacteristicsareusedfortheevaluation
