To be ready to meet the new challenges and opportunities that will arise when the Asean Economic Community (AEC) comes into being in 2015, the Quality Learning Foundation in cooperation with the Romchatra Foundation has initiated a pilot project in the Wat Traimitr community or China town. This aims to use community as hub and serve as a model that brings together many partners – temple, school, local government, Ministry of Education and corporate sector to offer a range of supports and opportunities to enhance and strengthen their own social and cultural identities to increase their competitiveness in the Asean region. Part of the project, it has set up an Asean Study Centre to provide knowledge about the regional bloc and its member countries for the Wat Traimitr community. The centre also launched a Burmese language course at Mahaweeranuwat School. The course will teach the Burmese language to both adults and children in the community.
Below is our first short video which is part of this project.
