3.6. Profiles after optimization of cultural conditions of pectinase production and fungal growth by nylon scouring pad immobilized cells
Fig. 9 shows the profiles of pectinase production and fungal growth of A. niger HFD5A-1 immobilized in nylon scouring pad cubes. The pattern of pectinase production and fungal grow thwere the same as before optimization where the pectinase produc-tion increased gradually and achieved its maximal production of 11.05 U/mL on day 6 of cultivation. The enzyme production dropped thereafter. The fungal growth increased to 8.22 g/L on day 6 and
10.74 g/L on day 10th of cultivations. There was an increment of 170.8% in pectinase production after optimization (11.05 U/mL)compared to before optimization (4.08 U/mL).
