Develop & maintain strong, productive relationships in order to meet CBI business targets.
Achieve annual purchase price variance & cost savings budgets & targets, through structured & planned cost improvement program & projects.
Conduct regular global benchmarking of all commodity purchases, & seek VA/VE opportunities to achieve ongoing product cost, quality and/or performance improvements.
Prepare accurate monthly PPV forecast , end of month &/or purchasing related reports.
Price change management - process all supplier changes requests in a timely manner & through negotiation, reduce/offset/eliminate cost impact of requested increases.
Participate in CNPI & CNPR project review team meetings.
Timely completion of CNPR quotes & checklists.
Actively work with Supplier Development personnel to improve supplier quality & delivery performance (MSPR) & identify opportunities for supplier/product related improvements.
Support cost recovery from suppliers due to supply of defective/nonconforming product.
Qualifications
Essential to have 7 years experience as a minimum in Purchasing, preferred automotive background with strong negotiation skills.
A comprehensive understanding in theory and practice of applicable standards, systems and controls e.g. TS16949, ISO9001 – 2000, QS9000.
APQP participation, design review, ECR/EAN/ECCS control and recording systems.
The ability to lead and participate in technical discussions on design and processing of a range of products at senior level when at CBI and suppliers.
Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing and engineering principles and disciplines
Understanding of automotive components with particular emphasis on brake systems and componentry and all key-manufacturing processes.
Demonstrated subject knowledge (as above) and communicative skills with trade qualifications and/or tertiary education in engineering as well as a proven track record in procurement of manufactured product.
Ability to read and comprehend technical/engineering drawings.
Hands on operator, works with minimum supervision and able to develop and pursue processes/projects/tasks through to successful conclusion.
