The minimum material properties required for the simulation are:
• Bulk density (kg/m3) which is used to convert the specific heat by mass to the specific heat by volume.
• Porosity (m3/m3) to determine the maximum water content wmax (by multiplication by qwater ¼ 1000 kg/m3).
• Heat capacity (kJ/kg K), the specific heat capacity by mass. Rough values are 0.85 kJ/kgK for mineral materials and 1.5 kJ/kgK for organic materials.
• Heat conductivity (dry) (W/m K), the heat conductivity of the material in dry condition. A moisture dependent heat conductivity is optional.
