Four Steps for Transforming a Traditional
Game Into a Differentiated Educational
Game
Similar to a well-planned differentiated lesson,
developing an engaging and effectively differentiated
educational game takes forethought. The four steps to
developing a differentiated game are as follows: (a)
determine the learning goals, (b) choose the game strategy,
(c) modify the context and system of an existing game while
considering options for differentiation, and (d) design
relevant graphics.
