In this paper, photofunctional hybrid films are prepared with dual-centered lanthanide (Eu3+, Tb3+) complexes
by sol–gel process, which is formulated as [Eu(DBM)4]
−IM+-Tb(L)2 (DBM = dibenzoylmethane; L = Phen,
Bipy). Here ionic liquid 3-(5-carboxy-propyl)-1-methylimidazolium bromide (IM+Br−), a kind of multifunctional
room temperature IL with carboxylic group, is used as chemical linker connecting two different lanthanide
complexes. Then these hybrid systems are introduced indium tin oxide (ITO) substrate to prepare the hybrid
films, which present favorable luminescent performance (long lifetime and high quantum efficiency).
