Dear parewanaruk,
I hope you're doing well! I am writing to tell you about an incredible event I attended recently for my Foundation in Dallas, Texas.
Our partners Hispanic 100 and Accion Texas hosted an event to benefit Latina entrepreneurs in North Texas. Thanks to their efforts, we will be able to help more Latinas in Texas change their lives through economic empowerment.
At the event, I had the honor of meeting the only Latina sheriff in the United States, Lupe Valdez (see the photo below). Lupe was born to migrant farmworkers in Texas, the youngest of seven children. She worked in the fields, but then paid her way through college, eventually getting her Master's degree and serving in the US Army. She is such an inspiration!
