Alongside efforts to understand pockets of resistance to change, the new leader must build powerful coalitions to support change. This process involve selecting the pivotal people whit whom to from alliances and determining how best to recruit them. As one leader pointer out: “I’m looking for people that I know will be supporters or advocates for this, and seeding those where I know there’s going to be resistance.
