Performing turndown service
VIP, SPG and suite guests will be provided with nightly turndown service between 6.00pm and 9.00pm.
Collect turndown work assignment sheet from the evening Floor Supervisor along with the appropriate number of turndown amenities.
2. Ring the doorbell and announce "turndown service". Make sure you use the guest's name. If no-one responds ring the bell or knock on the door again, then enter.
3. Turn on all lights to see that they are working properly.
4. Pull the top of the bedspread back to the foot of the bed and fold it cross-wise, wrong side out. Continue to fold cross-wise and length-wise to the correct size. Place bedspread inside the wardrobe.
5. Pull bed sheets back according to bed type. A Double or King bed for one person should be turned down near the phone, and with two persons it should be turned down on both sides.
6. Place the turndown amenity i.e. mineral water and a hi-ball glass overturn on top of a coaster on the bedside table near the turndown(s) with a "good night" card.(unisef card) For 2 guests to put one on each side of the bed.
7. Place a pair slipper diagonally on top of the T/D mat on the floor below near to bedside table.
8. If the guest has pyjamas in the room, these should also be neatly folded and placed at the end of the bed.
9. Turn on the TV to in house channel and place on low volume (no.5) and keep the cabinet door opened
10. Close curtains for privacy. For suite rooms do not close living room curtains
11. Empty all ashtrays and waste- baskets and wash all used room glasses.
12. Wipe and dry tub, wall, chrome fixtures and basin with clean cloth.
13. Remove all soiled towels and replace with clean ones.
14. Replenish all bathroom amenities.
15. Check all tissue and toilet roll supplies.
16. Turn off all lights except the bedside light near the turndown and the entrance light.
17. After service is complete, check door to be sure it has been secured.
18. If the guest does not answer the doorbell and the room is double locked, call the guest and ask if turndown service is required. (The guest will be called only if there is no Privacy Please sign on the door).
19. If Privacy Please sign is displayed please put in the card to inform the guest.
