The postgraduate research methods course (POPLHLTH 701) was
the first to undergo an academic review. Following this review, it was
recalibrated to function as a foundational course for learners without
recent experience or training in health research methods. The course
now provides learners from diverse backgrounds and disciplines with
basic knowledge and critical skills to analyze and conduct research in
health at postgraduate level (University of Auckland, 2015a). The course
also serves as a gateway to specialist postgraduate courses focused on
applying research knowledge.
