We acknowledge that Latino adolescents who perceive discrimina-
tion may differ in important ways from those who do not, and although
there is little evidence to indicate that mental health affects the likeli-
hood of perceiving discrimination, we cannot rule out the possibility
of reverse-causality. To address these endogeneity concerns, we include
as covariates the corresponding mental health outcomes and a variety
of other family characteristics from the baseline survey.3 Our main spec-
