In 2013, the house purchased the legendary perfumery Les Fontaines Parfumées in the celebrated town of Grasse on the French Riviera. A conservatory of the olfactory arts since the early 20th century (complete with a perfume fountain in the grounds, where locals used to come to fill up their bottles), Les Fontaines Parfumées has long been a byword for the most superb extractions, cultivated from the finest flora native to the area – think lavender, orange blossom and citronella. Fast forward three years and this regeneration has made it a busy epicentre of innovation, where nature is delicately distilled by house perfumer Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud.
