After working or studying for a long period. we should take some time off. away from school or work to " re - charge our batter " If you study or work too hard . you may become tried or unhappy . and your performance at school or work may even drop .
Resting our brain is important . This is relaxation . We can do this by reading a book or a magazine . watching TV or going to the cinema . Anything which is different from our routines will help our brain relax . We can also use this time for a hobby or an exercise which does not need a lot of physical activities such as stamp collecting . drawing painting . going for a walk . gardening . making things and many others .
To relax you can also replace negative thoughts with good ones . Each time you notice negative thoughts . purposefully think of something that makes you happy or proud . Or . memories a poem . prayer or quote and use it to replace them .
Whichever method you choose to relax . practise it . Just as it takes a long time and practice to learn a new sport .it takes practice to learn relaxation .
