We need a skilled Photoshop ninja to clean up and slightly modify an existing old book cover / dust jacket. We need rips to disappear and colors to be vibrant. Some text will change. Little or no original artwork will be needed. If you have Photoshop skills, this contest is for you.
Dear Designers:
I have attached various scans of an old book dustjacket.
We need the dust jacket cleaned up: rips and tears removed, colors brightened to the original and background unfaded to the original cream color, etc … all of the obvious stuff.
We also need some of the text changed:
- "Farrar and Rinehart" removed and "Pro Bono Press" put in it's place, in the same font;
- under "Lowell Thomas" on the front and spine add "Edited by Steven Rambam", in the same font
- we might need to change some of the text on the back…but don't worry about that for now…let's just see examples of what you can do.
Note that the original colors were of course very vibrant, not washed out like the scan, and that's one of the main things that needs to be fixed. (Think of the cleaned Sistine Chapel frescoes.) The background was a whitish-cream. The red and blue were the bright red and blue of the American flag. The brown horse was a healthy chestnut. Etc.
Use your imagination…but please stay as close to the original as possible.
In all the past 99Designs' contests I've been amazed how the winning designs were even better than I'd imagined they would be…I hope that this contest is no difference.
My direct email is: librosfirst@gmail.com. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or suggestions. I very much hope this contest goes to the next stage and there's a winner.
Thanks!
