The present study identified HL and HC as key dimensions for a glove sizing system by examining the results of correlation and multiple regression analyses reported in the 1988 US Army hand anthropometric survey report. The glove sizing systems for males and females were constructed by applying the selected key dimensions, 1.3 cm of sizing interval length, and 2% of minimum population coverage rate to the US Army data. The two sizing systems significantly differ from each other in terms of the number of sizes and overlapping. Lastly, the present study recommends the use of hand measurements, rather than glove measurements, for glove size designation if the glove is designed using anthropometric data.
