This information is invaluable to these agencies and policy makers because it
means that WGs’ MSEs will take-off and be sustained i.e. deliver the intended level of
benefits for a long time. Sustainability also means that the WGs’ MSEs will enjoy low
maintenance costs, increased level of benefits, quality services, accessibility of the
community to the MSEs benefits, and starting and implementing their own MSEs
instead of replicating successful ones of other WGs elsewhere which might not be
appropriate. For individual members, once sustainability of the project is achieved,
they will be able to derive benefits such as: a yearly income from the proceeds; access
to credit; installation of items such as energy saving stoves in their homes.
Furthermore, the WGs may start MSEs for individual women such as: dairy animal
keeping; vegetable growing; fish farming.
