Celina and the Rain Forest
Celina is a Tembe Indian from the village of Sao Pedro on the Amazon River. The village is near the equator, and the weather is warm during the day and at night. Celina loves the forest, and she likes to live near the river. She likes to swim and to paddle her family’s canoe on the river. There are alligators, snakes, and piranha, but Celina is very sad when people cut down the trees. She wants to live in the rain forest for the rest of her life. She wants to be a naturalist and help preserve the tress and the animals.
