Characterization of the light source was performed via the Mightex spectrometer described in the previous section.The initial Tungsten spectrum centered at 650 nm showed ashift of ~100 nm toward the blue region after incorporatingthe daylight filter (orange curve in Figure a); wavelengthsabove 700 nm are not affected by the daylight filter, and therefore, a FM 01 hot mirror is needed to attenuate the unwanted NIR band (green curve in Figure a). A direct comparison between the proposed light source with andwithout filters and the solar spectrum is presented in Figure b. It should be noted that Tungsten lamps are depleted in UV and blue wavelengths and consequently a complete match between the solar spectrum and tungsten lamps is not feasible.
