The Recommended Transfer functionality in RMS has been enhanced to correct a defect in the ‘move’ option, where the item-department selection was seemingly duplicated, has been eliminated.
In order to calculate recommended stock movements, the system must be told:
1. Which stores to analyse (this can be done by using a dynamic store classification or the hard-coded classification based on store/department grading),
2. The items to assess, and
3. Then the rule to determine the direction of movements.
Prior to this version, the system attempted to split the selected stores into source and target locations, based on the movement rule (point #3 above). This has now been eliminated and the determination of the source and the target stores is done on an SKU by SKU basis (still using the rule #3). The user now has three clearly defied selections to make prior to the run being submitted:
1. List of stores (via a classification or department grades – in the latter case all stores that have even one department graded as selected will be included),
2. The list of items e.g. all items for a supplier, and
3. List of source and target grades (movement direction rule).
