An antagonistic bacterial strain SG-6,
newly isolated from the root tissue of Sophora tonkinensis showed strong antagonistic activity against P. digitatum, suggesting that the strain might be a promising biocontrol agent against postharvest disease of citrus fruit.
In this study,
the objectives were to:
(1) identify the isolate,
(2) determine in vitro activity against P. digitatum,
(3) investigate the population dynam- ics in wounds,
(4) investigate the in vivo effectiveness in reducing green mold decay of citrus fruit inoculated and naturally infected under different storage conditions, and
(5) evaluate the effect on fruit quality.
