The results appeared up rather quickly. Economically, export has regained its growth, as did the economic growth at around 8% a year. In 1988, Korea hosted the 24th Summer Olympic Games, and in 1995 , per capita income reached 10,000 USD. OECD (Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development) , the so-called "rich men 's club", invited Korea to become a member and Korea joined OECD in 1996. Politically in 1987, democracy was introduced, and labor disputes were allowed for the first time.
