Globalization in the higher education sector: trends, issues, and strategies

This course is conducted jointly between the International Office and the Faculty of Economics at Kagawa University. International students enrolled in the Sanuki Program sit in the class together with Japanese students who may come from various faculties. The focus of this course is on the higher education sector. We shall see how this sector is affected by globalization through the movements of students across borders. This course aims to equip students with the knowledge to understand the phenomenon of globalization in the area of higher education. In particular, students shall learn of the trends and issues in the sector, and the strategies adopted by nations to attract and host international students.
