In thisstudy,physico-mechanicalpropertiesofNR/SBRblendscuredbyelectronbeamirradiationand
sulfur werecompared.TheNR/SBRblendswerepreparedusingatwo-rollmill.Electronbeam
irradiationsof100–400kGywereappliedtocuretheblendsandchangesinphysico-mechanical
propertieswerestudiedasafunctionofirradiation.Also,oilresistanceandtheeffectofthermalageing
on mechanicalpropertiesoftheblendswereinvestigated.Theresultsshowthattheirradiatedblends
have bettermechanicalpropertiesthanthosecuredbysulfursystem.Theirradiationcuredsamples
also exhibitedbetterheatstabilitythanthesulfurcuredsamples.Theblendcuredbythehighestdose
showsthelowestswellingandhighoilresistancecomparedwiththeothersamplescuredby
irradiation.
