The method of normal saline for returning blood:
1. Close the arterial terminal’s clamp, turn on the pump ,stop dialysis, returning the blood from arterial line with normal saline.
2. When the blood flows out from it completely and the color becomes white, no blood is left over, turn off the pump.
3. Use the hemostatic clamp to close 2 ends of hemoperfusion cartridge and dialyzer. Remove arterial lines at hemoperfusion cartridge's red end, and then connect to dialyzer's arterial end. Remove the hemoperfusion cartridge and its extension tube.
4. Open all hemostatic clamps, and arterial line’s clamp, ensure all the parts is in opening state, then turn on the pump continues to hemodialysis. Set up the pump speed to the normal state.
Advantages: Safer than the method of air for retuning blood. Sealed type blood returning will reduce the risk of infection. Returning the blood with normal saline will reduce the blood remain in the hemoperfusion cartridge then cause the patients’ blood loss
