The purpose of these interviews was to provide respondents
with an opportunity to express their views. The questions
were open, and supplementary questions were asked, where
it was necessary, to probe more deeply or where respondents
raised issues of interest. The responses to the questionnaires
and interview were analysed by counting the
number of respondents who gave a particular answer to
determine common themes and issues that respondents
raised. Respondents’ answers were notated by research
assistants who were supporting the lead researcher and
present during the interviews. These results were then collated
and analysed as described.
