Their proposed image processing algorithm produced a complete 3D
model of the surface distresses which enabled measurement of the distresses
such as potholes and ruts in 3D. Recently, the usability of smallscale
UAV systems as a safety inspection tool on construction sites has
been proposed by [23]. They suggested the employment of an inexpensive
quadcopter equipped with a camera. The proposed UAV should
provide a safety manager with real-time access to videos or still images
of construction sites.
