concerning various reinforcement types, reinforcement configurations, and concrete types. Some previous research has shown longer transfer lengths for SCC than for conventional concrete,4–6 but little research has focused on the bond performance of prestressing strands in conjunction
with lightweight SCC. Lightweight concrete is known to have reduced shear strength compared with conventional concrete, as indicated by reduction factors in the American Concrete Institute’s (ACI’s) Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete (ACI 318-11) and Commentary
(ACI 318R-11),7 and an accurate transfer-length prediction is needed for shear-strength calculations in prestressed concrete members.
