Moreover, these two protected areas were habitats for 4 near threatened species according to IUCN, 2014 and 4 endemic species according to Thailand Red Data Fishes. This shows the importance role of communitybased protected area in biodiversity protection. However, due to the recent human disturbance activities (e.g. agriculture, pollutions, habitat encroachment, etc.), these near threatened species and endemic species in these two protected areas require close monitoring on their population dynamics and distribution and in-depth biological study to avoid extinction in the future.
