The hybrid process has the advantage of using fine resin particles to significantly accelerate boron removal due to their increased surface area. In this study, the effects of the process parameters such as resin concentration and replacement speeds of saturated and fresh resins on the efficiency of boron removal from the RO permeate of geothermal water were investigated. The obtained results were summarized in Table 4. By optimizing the process parameters, it was possible to decrease the boron concentration in the geothermal water to less than 1.0 mg B/L. From the obtained results, it was shown that boron removal was higher when a larger amount of resin was employed. Also, it was observed that it is possible to lower the boron concentration and keep it constant until the end of the experiment by increasing the speeds of replacement of saturated and fresh resins. Increasing the speeds of replacement of resins caused to use the larger amount of fresh resin fed to the suspension tank which provides a higher boron uptake.
